Getting Married at Finca Alaiar
My first wedding on Alaiar was a very special one, even after many years as a wedding photographer in Mallorca. Accompanying friends at their wedding isn’t really my thing, as you don’t get to talk to anyone beyond a brief greeting. You’re there all day, but only through the viewfinder of your camera and, for over twelve hours, only thinking about the next photo. Not to mention that you’re perhaps under even more scrutiny among friends and acquaintances… But Maria and Hendrik charmingly convinced me that they couldn’t imagine any other photographer. When you add Alaiar as the location and other colleagues like Sandra and Hernan, or later David Gee, providing brilliant music, you know that you don’t have to worry about anything except the photos – which is not as obvious as you might think. Long story short: it was a great finca wedding in Mallorca and it was also really fun as a service provider. All the better that many more great weddings followed at Alaiar. Wedding Ceremony in the Garden at Alaiar
Although the couple also live in Mallorca, the option of renting the guest house at Finca Alaiar was an important factor. At least the night before the wedding and the preparations were much more relaxed than if they had had to arrange transfers or drive themselves back and forth. The walk to the outdoor wedding ceremony was also short: just out the door and into the shade of the olive trees, where the Alaiar team had set up a dreamlike setting. Incidentally, one of the big advantages of Finca Alaiar as a wedding location is that Gabriel, Lena, and their team provide almost everything themselves. Furniture, catering, decorations… This makes wedding planning much easier and at the same time allows you to keep a close eye on your budget from the very beginning. And all this at really fair prices. For this reason alone, I highly recommend it!
A Wide Variety of Locations on Alaiar
As the name Alaiar suggests, the finca dates back to the Moorish occupation of Mallorca and is steeped in history. This means that there are many locations suitable for the various parts of a wedding program. The aperitif with snacks, ice cream bar, and drinks in the garden in front of the main house and the dinner until the first dance in the patio. This alone is enough to make many a wedding finca green with envy. With a really good (which is actually quite rare) BBQ and served starters and desserts, the in-house caterer also did everything right, until the party moved to the vaulted bar around midnight. Really, really cool and varied, with only a few meters to walk for the guests, who found themselves in a completely new location several times.

Finca Atmosphere and All-inclusive Service
Finca Alaiar has pretty much everything you could want for a Mallorca wedding: a beautiful atmosphere throughout and plenty of shady spots. An outdoor wedding ceremony under trees is simply something else entirely than one under parasols. Not only much nicer, but also much cooler! Afterwards, your guests will find an equally shady spot between the ice cream truck, ham carver, and market stall-style bar, while the children can play on the large lawn in the garden. For dinner, the patio provides the next wow effect-and all without any kitsch. Just my taste! The vaulted cellar with its impressive ceiling height is not only a great place for the party, but also a really nice Plan B if the weather doesn’t play along.
