Personal Insight as a Wedding Photographer at Alaiar
The first wedding I photographed at Alaiar was for close friends – usually a challenging setup. You’re part of the celebration, but also in full work mode, constantly behind the camera. And there’s that subtle pressure of being “the friend with the camera.”
But Maria and Hendrik were incredibly kind – and convinced me I was the only one they wanted. Once Alaiar was set as the venue and I saw names like Sandra, Hernan, and David Gee on the vendor list, I knew the day would flow smoothly.
And it did. It was one of those rare weddings where everything just worked – logistically and emotionally. That’s the kind of experience couples can expect here. And as a vendor? It’s a joy.

Finca atmosphere and all-in-one service for a stress-free Mallorca wedding
Finca Alaiar has just about everything you could want for a wedding in Mallorca: stunning scenery at every corner and plenty of shaded spaces. A ceremony under the trees is simply a different experience than under umbrellas – not only more beautiful but also much cooler. Your guests can relax in the shade between ice cream cart, ham carving station, and market-style bar, while the kids run around on the big lawn in the garden. The patio brings the next wow moment at dinner – all without any over-the-top decoration. Just how I like it. The vaulted cellar with its impressive ceiling height is a brilliant party location, complete with air conditioning and a full bar. Believe it or not, some couples still show up here with external wedding planners – but honestly, it’s completely unnecessary. No one will know the place and its flow better than Lena and Gabriel, and bringing in outside planning usually just adds costs and confusion. Getting there & staying on-site
Just 25 minutes from Palma and the airport, Alaiar is centrally located in one of Mallorca’s most beautiful regions. There’s plenty of parking onsite, and Lena and Gabriel can even help organize shuttles for your guests. You can book the guesthouse (Finca Can Ribes) right on the property – a charming old farmhouse with a pool and 3 bedrooms. It’s the perfect setup for a relaxed start into your wedding day, whether you’re with family or friends. Staying the night before makes the getting ready much easier and less stressful than driving in and out. And it makes your ceremony just a few steps away – walk out the door and into the shade of the olive trees, where the Alaiar team will have created a magical setting. There are also plenty of other great fincas and boutique hotels nearby if you want to turn your wedding into a full holiday experience. One great option is Finca Can Grau, where you can host up to 30 people for a full wedding week.

My Favorite Photo Moment at Alaiar
There are many! But the moments I hold closest are always the relaxed, happy faces throughout the day — little stories unfolding everywhere that reflect the unique feel-good atmosphere of this finca. And then, of course, the couple photos just before sunset: warm colors, a calm mood, a few easy steps through the garden or vineyard — these are the moments that require no posing and tell far more than anything staged. Add the backdrop of natural stone walls and the Tramuntana mountains… it’s magic.

As a photographer, I love the light at Alaiar — there are few places on Mallorca that offer better conditions for truly emotional images. Especially in the late afternoon, when the sun sets behind the Tramuntana range. That’s when you get photos that instantly feel Mediterranean, warm, and full of real emotion.

Best Light for the Ceremony in Mallorca:
The ceremony usually takes place under the trees in the garden in front of the guesthouses — a spot where all guests sit in the shade, which is both comfortable and photographically ideal. No harsh shadows, no sunglasses in every photo — just natural, warm images with soft light.
Timeline recommendation (based on experience):
