One of the most popular wedding venues in Mallorca is and remains the Port Verd del Mar restaurant, located between Cala Bona and Cala Millor. On Mallorca’s picturesque east coast, Port Verd offers several compelling reasons for this reputation. A wedding by the sea in Mallorca is otherwise almost always linked to a few compromises: sand between your toes, difficult access, bumpy paths, and perhaps even half-naked strangers around your wedding party. Of course, there are also dreamlike beach weddings in Mallorca. But if you want to play it safe when choosing your wedding venue, a seaside restaurant is the perfect choice.

Getting Married with a Sea View

A romantic pavilion directly above the turquoise-blue sea not only provides a dreamlike backdrop for the ceremony, but also a bit of shade and breeze. And that’s something you’ll definitely appreciate during a summer wedding in Mallorca. Without a doubt, the pavilion is something of an icon of Port Verd in Son Servera. Visually, there’s hardly any real competition on Mallorca, so when searching for a wedding venue right by the sea, it’s almost impossible to overlook it. Since I’m not a fan of the island’s beach clubs, I would always prefer a wedding with this fantastic panoramic view. And unsurprisingly, the food here is also much better. So, does this place have everything you need for an unforgettable ceremony? Well, yes and no.

Port Verd del Mar as a Wedding Venue

A location directly on the coast, surrounded by an authentic and breathtaking landscape. No tourists on the beach, nothing to disturb the view of the sea. This stunning venue right on the water is truly unique. Nearby, you’ll find endless accommodation options such as hotels and apartments, plus Mediterranean cuisine and the beautiful Costa dels Pins beach just around the corner. Only a few steps separate the terrace-with its elegantly draped white tables-from the sea, making it the perfect spot for those all-important family portraits and the first photos of the newlyweds in a picture-perfect setting. A clear recommendation, and not without reason-I have already had the pleasure of capturing dozens of weddings here as a photographer.

However, Port Verd is only the right choice under certain conditions. If you plan to rent the venue during high season, it’s really only worthwhile if you can reserve the entire restaurant. That means not only enough guests, but also enough budget. Otherwise, the bride’s entrance risks passing by diners who might end up treating your ceremony as part of their lunch entertainment. Not everyone finds that appealing-similar to the noise restrictions here. Loud celebrations are strictly prohibited. So, the only thing that roars is the sea, and the only one left speechless is the officiant-not the music or a lively reception. Party vibes are limited, and the sound of the waves often drowns out any background music. In other words, the atmosphere and fine food need to be the most important factors for you to choose this location.

Conclusion: Should You Book the Restaurant for Your Wedding or Not?

For the ceremony and champagne reception, Port Verd is almost an attraction in itself and visually breathtaking for many of your guests. However, afterwards you will inevitably have to switch venues if you want more than just a seated dinner and if music plays any role in your wedding. Whether you are willing to take on the cost and effort of arranging shuttles to and from your finca-on top of everything else-is something only you can decide! An alternative nearby might be the Träumeria Son Moll with its “Cloud 7”!?
